The Philippines Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is intensifying its efforts to promote functional cosmetics production through the Functional Pop Beauty (F-Pop) initiative. The program introduces streamlined regulatory pathways to help local manufacturers develop and market innovative, skin-enhancing products domestically and internationally.
The F-Pop initiative simplifies the registration process by creating a middle-ground category, reducing both costs and clinical trial requirements compared to the more stringent “drugs” classification.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has mandated the easing of these registration procedures as part of a broader effort to support local manufacturers and drive economic growth.
