Dieux, the skincare brand known for its clinically vetted products and transparent pricing, has announced the appointment of Ryan Scott as its new CEO. Scott, who brings over two decades of experience in the beauty industry, will lead the brand as it continues its expansion and aims to scale its infrastructure.
Founded by Marta Freedman, Joyce de Lemos, and Palermino, Dieux made its first major retail move earlier this year, launching in over 700 Sephora stores nationwide in March. The company’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) business has also seen significant growth, thanks in part to its strategic partnership with the cosmetics giant.
Palermino expressed confidence in Scott’s appointment, stating, “Ryan’s deep understanding of cross-functional collaboration between innovation, commercial, and creative teams is a perfect fit as we move into our next chapter of growth. Together, we’ll continue challenging the beauty industry’s norms and reaching more consumers who are eager to experience rituals that produce real results.”
In his new role, Scott will focus on strengthening Dieux’s infrastructure to support both its DTC model and its expanding relationship with Sephora. Dieux’s products are featured prominently in Sephora’s “Next Big Thing” wall and have seen strong sales, leading to additional space in stores.
Scott emphasized his approach to innovation, noting, “I believe in letting brand and innovation lead the charge in product development, with commercial considerations acting as a filter rather than a driver. This approach will help us stay ahead of trends, creating them rather than simply reacting to them.”
As part of his strategy, Scott has initiated a comprehensive review of Dieux’s product pipeline and organizational structure, although he stressed that there are no immediate plans for further distribution expansion at this time.
Dieux’s leadership change comes amid a wave of CEO shifts in the beauty industry, as companies seek to position themselves for future growth. Notable changes this year include Galen Smith’s transition from Redbox Entertainment to Ipsy, Savannah Sachs’ appointment at Eighth Day, and Marla Beck assuming the permanent CEO role at BeautyHealth. Additionally, Lisa Sequino replaced Amanda Baldwin as CEO of Supergoop.
As Dieux continues to evolve, Scott’s leadership will play a crucial role in shaping the brand’s future trajectory in a competitive beauty landscape.
